I think quite a few international fans attended the fan meeting in Japan. Zed24 was among them, and she has once again brought us an entertaining fan account! 😀
Allow me to capture the moments during The Brilliant Show…moments that are sexy, surprising, heodang, energizing, cute and child-like. Before that, let me put a disclaimer here: This account is based on my impression of what I observed without any knowledge of Japanese or Korean. As such, my impression may not be accurate and I stand corrected. So, here goes…
Finally, the moment I’ve been waiting for has arrived. The time is now. The start of the show was promising with English being used on the screen. Well, that was the only bit of English throughout the show. I was not sure what to expect from ‘The Brilliant Show’ except that it will be a talk show-cum-mini-concert. The show was definitely talk-heavy with 90 minutes spent on the interview and 45 minutes of LSG singing. The interview was centred on ‘The King 2 Hearts’, the snippets of which were shown on screen before the start of the show. I see the show as being ambitious. It struck me as a talk show-cum-fan meeting-cum-mini-concert. At least, if it is a fan meeting, there would be more interaction between LSG and the audience. Here, the interaction is between LSG and the MC, who is obviously a BIG LSG fan, based on her reactions to LSG’s response. I’m just guessing here based on her reactions and body language.
When the MC gestured to LSG to sit, he, in turn gestured her to sit and this went on for two rounds before both sat down. Such a gentleman!
LSG puts in a lot of effort, deliberating before giving his well-thought and elaborate answer to the many questions that came in fast and furious. You can’t help but feel the sincerity in his responses, trying to be as comprehensive as possible. Such sincere insights!
The theme for The Brilliant Show seems to centre on ‘Love’. Before the start of the show, the MC explained to the audience about a surprise in store for LSG by using the given lightstick. The visual was a surprise for LSG and when the lights went out, LSG just went ‘Wow!’. The visual effect was just brilliant and I could not ask for anything more, being seated in the middle section where the pink heart is, in the midst of a sea of green lightsticks was just amazing. I was in the direct line of vision where LSG stood on stage! Such brilliant visuals!
Then, I witnessed the child-like LSG when he could figure out, besides the ‘heart’ visual was his own initials and when asked by the MC what else he could see from the lightsticks, he excitedly exclaimed, “L-S-G! L-S-G!”. This reminds me of the 1N2D quiz time when he could successfully answer a question. A cute moment was also present when he sang the gwiyomi song. Cuteness overload!
Yes, and not forgetting his heodang moments. There were several of such occasions. The first was when he was first shown a large message board with a big pink heart and a picture of him in his sageuk hairdo. He was reading a message and was pointing using his right middle finger. He was unaware of this until the image appeared on the big screen and there were gasps and sniggles among the audience. He did a quick recovery by using another finger. Another occasion was when the crew was gesturing to get the heavy message book from him but instead he was passing his microphone to the crew until the MC pointed out that it was not the microphone but the message book. The third heodang moment was when he was dancing ‘Noona Style’. Instead of doing the side slide to ‘Hey, Sexy Lady’, he was doing the horse-riding step. Again, there was quick recovery from him but you know that he made a mistake when he stuck his tongue at the end of the song. Such appealing heodangness!
The bonus moment for me was when LSG sang the first verse of ‘Return’ acappella style. Such great voice and breathing control!
The sexy moment was when he did the 10 second dance as a punishment – the body wave from the side and back view. What a sexy-shy combination act!
I could not figure out what he said until I read tryp’s blog for the translation. However, when he answered in Korean, I could guess that it was something heartwarming when there were a few ‘aww…’ responses from among the audience. This was about how he would propose to his girlfriend. Such a hopeless romantic!
Nothing is more energising when he sang Noona Style, Smile Boy, Let’s Go Vacation and Slave. Not forgetting his signature mid-air jump/split during ‘Slave’. What an energizing moment!
There was a BTS video for GFS showing LSG making the rooftop jump. The audience could just feel the 3-metre height LSG did despite his acrophobia. Such a brave act!
The next moment…
The next moment I’m waiting for is to attend his concert in October. So, if I get to attend it, I hope to bring you another fan account. This then…
