Hope Sharing Project: Lee Seung Gi & Fans More Beautiful Than Flowers

The blog post is really long, so I’ll just summarize the parts I found interesting. 😛

Fans more beautiful than flowers: people who make stars shine more brightly through sharing

Fans and their star are alike. ^^ Lee Seung Gi is well known for his upstanding and sincere image and being very caring. Last year, for ‘2013 Lee Seung Gi Hope Conert’, his fans organized a donation campaign named ‘Hope Sharing Project’ to repay the public’s love for Lee Seung Gi and to spread the culture of sharing.

The fans prepared 113 winter jackets, 6600 packs of ramyeon, 2000 briquettes, rice, and etc. They discussed with Hook and decided to make the donation to island village children, because of SeungGi’s 1N2D experience (cold and windy winter on islands…). Then CJ Donors Camp helped choose islands and distribute the donated goods in December.

CJ Donors Camp invited 18 children for a visit to Seoul from January 26 to 28, and the cooking class with SeungGi was one of their activities.

The kids were very thankful for the gifts, and they were very excited to meet SeungGi in person.

“Wow, it’s really SeungGi oppa!” “Just like on TV.” “No, even more handsome.”

One of the kids asked, “What does a dream mean to SeungGi hyung?”

SeungGi said, “I think a dream is ‘what makes us excited’.”

At the end of the class, Lee Seung Gi signed souvenirs (like calendars with his pictures) for the students, one by one. This was not a request by CJ Donors Camp or the community child center. Lee Seung Gi prepared the souvenirs in advance on his own. It was a touching moment when Lee Seung Gi’s sincerity was again felt. Needless to say, the students were extremely happy.
