tvN announced on July 16 that Na Young Seok PD will show a new form of variety program this fall through internet contents ‘신서유기’ (SinSeoYuGi, 新西游记, New Journey to the West).
‘SinSeoYuGi’ production team said, “Currently, Kang Ho Dong and Lee Seung Gi have confirmed to appear in the show. We are still discussing with Lee Su Geun and Eun Ji Won regarding the possibility of their appearance.”
The production team continued, “We’ve met with Kang Ho Dong and Lee Seung Gi over a long period of time, and have talked about new forms of program and new challenges, etc. We have a mutual understanding to make a new form of ‘internet digital contents’ instead of TV broadcasts.”
‘SinSeoYuGi’ is a variety program that takes place in the outdoors. Details like concept and platform are still in the planning stage.
The production team explained, “Specifics like when, where, how the show will be released on the internet are still under discussion. There will be no other members joining the show.”

If Seung Gi really wants to join with his 1N2D brothers even if it’s just for the sake of his sentiments (although I believe that he definitely considers carefully other factors as his usual style as well), I’ll still enjoy it with a full heart since it’s so obvious that it’ll be one of a few last projects we can see him before his MS. Whatever it goes, still support his decisions.
Although there were some unexpected things in the past, but at the end of the day, Seung Gi still speaks loudly from times to times that those 1N2D days still remain in his heart as a precious experience, that he still hopes the 1N2D members will have a chance to reunion together on someday. It’s enough to say what he thinks. So I’m really sad to see some K-Airens can’t open their heart for it once if anything even tend to against it just because of the thoughts that he would shine much better if he chooses other projects as a drama or a movie or even another variety show as long as it’s not a show with Kang Ho Dong, Lee Soo Geun or Lee Seo Jin who’re on their fussed list.

I know im going to get downvoted but is there any news about seunggi enlisting. I just cant excited for this variety show with no news of his enlistment date. he is going to be 30 soon and u know how knetz are. wont take one minute to turn against him and ruin his hard earned reputation. hook should take care of this. first he was supposed to enlist last year and then news was he will enlist first half of this year but again its delayed.
All the enlisting dates are just speculation. Hook and SeungGi forever said there’s no date. People just like to speculate because they think he’ll be enlisting soon, even now they still speculate.
If knetz’re going to hate him in the future for this, then they’re hypocrites if not already. 85 liners haven’t even all enlist yet and they promote more freely than SeungGi. There’re many stars knetz busy praising now, who enlisted at 30-31 in Korean ages. There’re even stars who caught try to dodge it, ended up serving, and knetz still praising them now.

Listen. Just ignore it. Nobody cares when someone goes as long as they go and do well. In 3-4 years you think netizens will talk about how Lee Seung Gi went in 2015 instead of earlier? No. If he goes active duty they’ll tell him to serve well and when h e gets back he’ll be praised. It’s like that for everyone.
I can get fans being worried about what some are saying, but he knows better than anyone what they are saying and it’s HIS enlistment and something he had to do. It’s very easy for us to say “go ahead and just go” without knowing anything or considering what he might have to take care of before. So, just leave it alone and enjoy the limited time we have left with him.

When retired from 1n2d seungi stated that he received the enlisting order for october that very year and he will go in army as a proud citizen of Korea! So I thought he finished the service yet :(((

Do you know how enlistment in Korea work? If so, please enlighten me. Do you just raise your hand? Do you go to some place and tell them, this is the date I am going to enlist, so arrange? Can he decide the date??? There will not be “enlistment news” because there is no news. Can you accept that?
Sorry but i get annoyed when i see knetz comments about seunggi not enlisting on unrelated articles and when this show starts the comments will be about that not about the show..putting him down while praising others. im a big worrier i just want him to get it done with. everyone is ready to chew him out if he doesnt do it soon

I asked a simple question whether anyone has any news about it. if u dont have move on. I will just feel relieved when he goes. I’m not Korean but after following many other celebrities who enlisted, I think the basic procedures: (feel free to correct me if I’m wrong)
Military Manpower Administration sends draft notice to the eligible men. They can request for postponement several times until they receive final draft notice in which they have no other choice but to serve. Or they must serve when MMA refuses their postponement request. They must go through one month basic training before serving in their division so it’s impossible they put their hand up and tell the most convenient date they want to enlist. They also must complete physical checkup to determine their physical grade level and pass the test to enter the division they want to serve. In the past Seunggi said his physical grade is level 2. So he already completed his physical checkup but it’s usually done few times until he enters military.
He probably already received several draft notices but pushed it back. I heard it’s hard to get approved for postponement, education / overseas schedule is generally accepted but quite rare. And they can’t use same reason repeatedly. Netizens don’t like they get drafted in their early 20s while celebrities get the easy way out, enlist later using education / S2 degree / overseas schedule as the reason of their delayed military.
Many celebrities prefer not to disclose any news about receiving draft notices because military is a sensitive issue. Making a false promise will put them in hot water (this is what exactly happen with seunggi. He promised to enlist early. He’s not the only one who made this promise but due to his image, he became netizens’ target). 1n2d didn’t have a good track either. MC Mong scandal. EJW is questionable. Maybe people think he’ll follow his hyungs’ bad examples.
Seunggi will definitely go and do active duty, he won’t risk it. I’m annoyed with netizens’ constant military comments but I’m afraid it won’t go away until he serves or Hook announces his enlistment date.
Ejw is not ‘eligible’ for enlisting cuz he didn’t studien in Korea but in a foreign country…so, he is safe
@arobreea, I doubt studying in foreign country can be a reason for non-eligibility of military service. The most they can do is to delay it. After they finish their study, they come back to SK for their enlistment, be it in active or non-active duty. Otherwise, many SK parents will send their sons to study overseas to avoid enlistment.
I’m not agreeing with her/his other comment since there was no such thing. But in this comment, I think it means EJW doesn’t has the required educational background. like in elementary or junior high in SK (I don’t know the minimum requirement) to join MS, not the college/uni one.
Nothing personal against EJW, but that’s just such a BS excuse. SK seems so sensitive about their military service, but they leave so many loopholes in the system for people to take advantage of. And the advantage is usually taken by people with money and power. Isn’t it kind of obvious that EJW got away with not serving because of those loopholes and/or because of his family connections? If poor MC Mong had some powerful connections, he wouldn’t be where he is now. And he would be the perfect monkey for the new show!
Regarding our SG, it’s unfortunate that he’s getting so much hate for not enlisting yet, but why do people have no faith in him?! Of course he’s going to serve, albeit a little later than expected. He’s not stupid, and he knows the consequences of not serving.

Two hot issues…1. military service: I think SG fans know he will honor his duty, so it’s just a matter of when. Antis use this issue to try to hurt him. Fans should defend him, or, at least, just ignore those comments (after giving it a thumb down). As a performer, work is everything. He is at him prime. He picks a good project to work on it. I see nothing wrong in that. In fact, I think fans should rejoice. Why let other people rain on our parade? As someone’s very wisely commented, when all is said and done, no one will remember you enlist at 29.8 or 25.6 years old. What matters is you enlist.
2. the new variety show: while I love 1n2d just like the next person, please remember this is no 1n2d. 1n2d has come and gone. Accept it. The new variety show has a new concept, a new production, a new everything. Why dwell on the past? You can’t reproduce the past. All those calling for the old 6 or 7 or whatever, please, just give the new show a chance. And prepare to enjoy it.
