Entertainment Relay: Lee Seung Gi Surprise-Releases New Song While Serving in Military
Tryp-nim, I’m asking because i’m totally don’t understand.. This song “Meet someone like me” is very good, i’m not bored at all listening to it all day, but why this song can’t through song charts? I browse alot but don’t find any explanation..
Mostly it’s because of Hook’s suck promotion. Nope of #1 sticked as recommend song on music sites neither the news abt his news song weren’t put on the main pages of all major portal sites that made most of the public didn’t know that he released a new song at that time. Also I read on some Korean blogs, I’m not good at Koreans so I really can’t get abt one of the reasons to be pointed out there. They said it was the lyrics of the song, it had “some mistakes”?!
You mean that Seunggi, who is quite educated as we know, would have sung a song with “mistakes” in it? Sorry but this (vague) comment of yours has been bothering me since I’ve read it.
IMO, the general public knows SeungGi is away serving in the military; they probably thought I’m Going to the Military would be the last song from him, and did not expect anything else. Meet Someone Like Me was really a surprise release, and not very many people (other than the hardcore fans) knew about it. Hook is not doing much promotion; maybe they are really treating this just as a fan gift. The MV is certainly geared towards the fans. Unfortunately, fan effort alone is not enough to push a song up the charts, no matter how good the song is.
Thank you Tryp. I recently found this, I like his reaction 🙂
Haha i watched this reaction last night and yes he’s really like Seunggi’s song..i smile proudly when he look so suprise and say OMG as i remember when he see Seunggi’s smile..haha even a man fall with seunggi sweet smile..i also found another reaction and she love it too but i dont know how to send here.
So sad this very high quality beautiful song don’t get all kill.. T T
It’s just my little suspicion, is it probably because the word ” drink” on the lyrics? Like they had banned “love taught me to drink” for the age under 19?
I really don’t want to speculate, but it just circling on my head..
I love the song. The melody and the lyrics are fab. The video however was almost like a Fanvid. 😦 actually the recent fanvids are better in my opinion. I don’t understand how music chart in Korea works. But if it’s all down to promotion (or the lack of) it’s just so unfortunate. Musicians put a lot of sweat and blood in writing a song. SG spent his 3-4 precious hours of his very last day before enlistment to record this song. And yet it was decided it didnt worth the effort of doing the last push to let more people knows about it. :”( Its not even listed in SG’s English wiki page yet.
