17.01.31 News Tidbits – Lee Seung Gi

According to a Channel A Exclusive report, the 46-year-old female employee of a telecommunication company who fabricated the malicious rumor of SeungGi and posted it online was fined 1 million won for libel.

Just how ridiculous is this?! The other people who spread the rumor got fined 1 million won each, yet the person who’s responsible for creating the rumor with malicious intent to damage SeungGi’s reputation is also getting off with such an absurdly light sentence?! Is there no justice in this world?!

The Korean justice is not fair. It’s pretty messed up. But I bet she lost her job and everyone around her see her for what she is. Living with shame is also a good punishment #ThinkingPositive

    • LSGMX says:

I thought the same, It may be a light sentence, but fortunately not harm was done, because no one believed that stupid rumour, and her reputation is ruined, and yeah I think she probably lost her job, too… Serves her right

  2. Anonymous says:

No one believed such rumour, heck, some people never even heard of it. So at the end of the day you only end up damaging yourself.

  3. Anon says:

Sigh…The news article talked about the guilty woman having “no particular reason” for making up the rumor. As if malicious intent that can be proven was not found in this case…Then I have to ask why. To do such a stupid, senseless thing. And from my own sex!!! People really need to have a life. A positive, constructive life! Like our Seung Gi!!! Seung Gi, fighting!!!

  4. D Lee says:

This lady deserves many whacks on the head! She must be out of her mind to fabricate such a malicious rumour about our dear Seung Gi.

  5. D Lee says:

I am of the same opinion as LSGMX .1 million won fined for libel is a light sentence and personally I don’t think a light sentence like this would act as a deterrence. Damaging a person’s reputation is a crime and a heavier sentence, perhaps a hefty fine together with a jail term ( Gee..I am harsh.) ought to be meted out to teach such people to think first before they go around fabricating malicious rumours about anyone. In this case, this idiotic woman is hurting our dear Seung Gi. Unforgivable!

  6. D Lee says:

I can’t help wondering how our dear Seung Gi feels after knowing about this lady fabricating such a malicious rumour about him. Here we are..his fans, we are boiling mad and our hearts ached for him after reading about this nasty piece of news. How is Seung Gi holding up I wonder?
On the one hand I worry for him but on the other hand I realise that Seung Gi is sturdy and he is able to overcome this obstacle. Thank God, his agency is there to act on his behalf.

  7. D Lee says:

Being a fan in the oldie group I honestly can’t help but worry for him. I guess it’s the hidden maternal instinct that makes me worry for him and want to reach out to protect him in the way I know best …that is sharing my thoughts and views with all the other fans on this page.
