An 8N10D SeungGi Tour: My Ultimate Fangirl Experience
Dec 7 – Dec 16, 2011
I started writing this on my way back from Seoul, but got totally distracted by my computer disaster. Now that more than 3 weeks have passed, I can’t even remember the details anymore, all thanks to my aging brain. π But I’ll try my best to share as much as I can remember.
Time really flies when you’re having fun. I can’t believe that I’m already home, and back to reality. π I have to say that it had been the most incredible, surreal fangirl experience I could have only dreamed about. But it became reality all thanks to an angel unni, and for that, I’ll be eternally grateful to her. π I’m afraid that I also need to apologize to SeungGi. No one likes sasaeng fans, and I really didn’t mean to turn into one. But some things just couldn’t be helped. π
Anyway, since a lot of things happened during this SeungGi tour, I’ll probably break down my fan account into several smaller, more manageable parts. I’m not sure how long it’ll take me to write up the whole trip, but I’ll do my best.
This was actually my 3rd trip to Seoul in a little over 1 year, ALL because of SeungGi. [I still haven’t had a chance to write about my 2nd trip yet, but it is on my long list of things to do. :P] So you can see what a crazy fan girl I really am. π Especially since I even threatened to quit my job this time in order to get some time off work. Because of the nasty and drawn-out fight with my b*tch boss, my vacation plan wasn’t finalized until the very last minute (even though I had already bought the concert tickets). Fortunately, iGo, my partner in crime on this trip, had made all the plans with the angel unni. All I needed to do was to tag along. π The bad thing about this is that I won’t be able to retrace our steps very easily if I ever wanted to take this SeungGi tour again.
Anyway, things went a little crazy right before my trip (all thanks to my b*tch boss). It’s a long story that I won’t bore you with, but I could have easily missed my flight! Fortunately, I made it just in time. But I was starting to worry about how the rest of the trip was going to be. Our long and bumpy flight from San Francisco to Seoul didn’t help either. I was suffering from really bad motion sickness, but I tried to sleep it off. After what felt like an eternity, we finally landed in Seoul. When we left SFO, it was Wednesday morning; and when we arrived in Seoul, it was already Thursday night. Two days flew by just like that. π
Unni actually came all the way to the airport to pick us up, and she even brought us warm jackets just in case we couldn’t handle the freezing cold weather. Before we left the airport, we stopped by a phone rental place. The last 2 times I went to Korea, I rented an iphone to stay connected. This time, since there were 2 of us, we decided to try the WIFI egg, which sounded like a great deal at the time. It provides unlimited data usage on up to 3 devices, so we could keep using our own iphones. But there are a few drawbacks. The battery in the egg only lasts for about 4 hours, so if you’re outside all day, say waiting around for a concert, and need internet access constantly, you’ll be left stranded after those 4 hours. And if you travel to the smaller cities, the connection is only spotty at best. Anyway, it’s just something to keep in mind for your future reference. π
As we were driving to unni’s house, we happened to pass by the area where Hook’s office is, so we decided to make it our first stop. Well, we didn’t actually stop there; we just drove by slowly and admired the building. hehe But we did see SeungGi’s van parked in the front, so maybe he was inside the office? Since it was Thursday, we had assumed that he was recording Strong Heart and even thought about going to SBS to watch the recording if our flight had arrived earlier. But seeing SeungGi’s van there, we were relieved to know that we didn’t miss a recording. π After our ‘tour’ of the Hook building, unni also showed us where the SM and JYP buildings were (since SeungGi used to practice until the lights went out in those buildings ). They are all within walking distance of each other. But I was too sick to pay attention (I was finally succumbing to the motion sickness), so our tour was brought to an abrupt end, and we headed straight to unni’s house.
Being the angel she is, unni had invited us to stay at her house for our entire trip. And omg, the daebak location you would never guess! It was practically next door to SeungGi’s apartment building! This is why I felt like I was turned into a sasaeng fan. π Every time we went anywhere, we could see SeungGi’s apartment building. And if we were lucky enough (even though we weren’t THAT lucky), we could probably even see SeungGi’s van passing by from our window. π Oh, just to clarify. Unni was already living there when SeungGi moved into his current apartment and became her neighbor. π
When we got to unni’s house, it was probably 9 or 10 pm already. Her angel family was actually still waiting for us to have dinner. Unni then went to the trouble of preparing a banquet for us! (There was actually more food coming after this picture was taken.)
After the delicious dinner, we still went out for late-night snacks. Now, where could we possibly go? π
There are actually a lot of restaurants in that building, and SeungGi had been to many of them already. How do we know? Well, people talk and SeungGi leaves behind evidence sometimes. π We went to one of the more popular places (I don’t remember its name though), and the first thing we saw as we walked in was SeungGi’s autograph! The food there was delicious (I forgot to take pictures until we were almost done :P). And when we went to pay our bill, we also chatted with the staff there. He told us that SeungGi didn’t go there very often; it’s usually the manager who goes to get take-outs.
I think it was almost 2 o’clock in the morning when we left. We didn’t know on which floor SeungGi’s apartment was, so we were trying to guess if he was home already and if he was, which room with the lights on could be his. π Like I said, we were like stalkers!
After our super-short walk home, we found out that SeungGi had just left a message on the official homepage! And he said that he had just come back home. When we read that, we were like all screaming! OMG, can you believe it?! That means we were in the same building when he wrote that message! What a cool coincidence! And what a nice start to our SeungGi tour! I got a feeling that the rest of our trip was also going to be daebak!
At which district or area does seung gi apartment building located… I wish to take a pic of the building like you did as a rememberance…i’n not stalker ok…
Reading this made me feel envious. I promise. How I wish.. π¦
