this episode was really sad i cried so hard 😦

  2. garden29 says:

    true,so heartbreaking

  3. melissa says:

Kangchi is born. That almost erases the sadness. I hope his life isn’t as sad as his dad’s. I guess we better brace ourselves for next week,

I laughed! I teared! I got so mad! This episode is trully heart breaking and beautiful at the same time. You can see what love can do not only to people but also to mythical creatures!
I may say Priest So Jung holds the secret of Choi Kang Chi and I bet he never left his side, continued on watching over him even from afar.

  5. AnnMichelle says:

I hope the love between Kang Chi and Yeo Wool is strong enough to sustain those huge obstacles thrown their way. I hope Yeo Wool is tougher than Seo Hwa, so she won’t be broken down by Kang Chi’s transformation (which will happen for sure).
I heard the writer specializes in gut-wrenching, agony-producing melodramas. Somehow that skill fits this story setting very well. Ha, what am I saying?! She wrote this story. Keep it up, Writer! This has been an exciting and enjoyable ride so far.

To answer our worries..I read this on MBC global media their description about Dam Yeo Wool.
She joins her father who was tasked with the job of investigating a series of murders by Yi Sun-shin. She crosses paths with Gang-chi who is falsely accused of committing murder. While Kang-chi always caused trouble, Yeo-wul discovers his innermost secret. This makes her feel sympathy for him. Even after knowing the truth that Kang-chi is half-human and half-animal, she trusts that he will not harm people and stands by his side. She is the only person who can calm down Kang-chi when he goes on a rampage.

Oh how much i wished jang ok jung aired on Wednesdays and Thursdays; those days of the week are yearning for good dramas while mondays and tuesdays are blooming with great ones; Gu Family Book, Nine, Jang ok Jung. Gu Family Book is absolutely amazing so far, I wondered why I skeptical of this. Seung gi sure chooses great dramas! Hopefully Gu family book wins the ratings by a landslide in the end. Gu Family Book fighting!!

The plot scarily shows hints of Man of Honor/Baker King. I do hope the writer steers away from that and have something refreshing for our Kang Chi.

  8. foulou says:

Biggest WTF of all: Seo Hwa runs away from her monster lover only to go to the people who wants her ass captured. I would’ve forgiven the writer if Seo Hwa was somehow captured accidentally or was tracked down but she voluntarily went to the person who killed her dad and tried to rape her. As far as I’m concerned, the person who lied about my brother’s death is exponentially better than the person who killed my father and tried to rape me. And Gumiho dad even saved her TWICE. wtf?!

    • Anonymous says:

I have to give it into consideration. The fact that she’s not on her right mind. From the moment her father was killed she and her brother and maid were tortured. Run like hell away from those people, only to find out the man that she ran in to is not even human. I would say it is very traumatic,to the point seeing him killed those people. She has no one to run to but to those who wanted her dead, she may be thinking she is safer with them rather than with a man who is actually a “monster”. (gumiho is a monster to the eyes of humans).

      • foulou says:

Yeah, the “monster” who saved her twice, who gifted her with peaches, flowers, butterflies, etc. even with being distraught she went to the person who killed her dad and tried to rape her? Doesn’t make any logical sense. For one, she could’ve just ran away from BOTH instead of picking sides. Flashes of Baker King/Man of Honor nonsensical WTF moments in play here. First ep was sooooo good then Seo Hwa makes a 180-degree into illogical land. Then of course, she realized it waaaaay too late. Plus she tried to kill her baby. WTF indeed.

        • melissa says:

I suppose in her mind being a slave/raped as better than being killed by a beast. A gumiho in the story is more scary than any human (except not really). From our perspective it doesn’t make much sense, but I don’t think SW was the strongest or smartest person in the world to begin with. She’s stubborn and full of pride, but pretty weak and wanted someone to save her constantly.

I was more upset about her leaving him injured and running away without a care. They could have had a scene showing that she was actually conflicted, but she seemed to pretty much turned against him completely when she found out what he was. It’s pretty indicative of how KC is going to be treated….not very well. But I’m particularly bothered by her actions since I don’t think she’s supposed to be seen with any sympathy at all.

this drama is so sad!!! I cried watching it!!

    I can’t understand 😦 …. Can i have the video with subs?

  11. crazyahjumma fan says:

Like some of you, I was disappointed with Seo Hwa’s decision to leave Wol Gyung and to return to of all people, the person who caused her so much grief in the first place. On one hand, I can understand her horror at seeing WG’s transformation. She thought he was human, but he suddenly changed into this scary beast, with whiteish hair, bloody mouth and claws, killing those around him. Even I was pretty scared. So, in her terror, she fled to her own kind, even if they were the cause of her trouble and grief. On the other hand, WG was the one who saved her, protected her and loved her. Couldn’e she see beyond his beastly nature, to what lies beneath?

However, I think this drama wants us to look at what we think it is to be ‘human’. My first reaction was, ‘Why go back to Official Jo? He’s more of a beast than WG!” First, he betrayed his friend, then framed him for treason. Not satisfied in just seeing him tried in court and maybe even hung publicly by the state, he wants to take his life by his own hands. However, Officer Jo can’t just kill him. So he deliberately taunts him, about bedding his daughter, knowing full well that the father would charge at him in anger, thus giving him the chance to slay him in ‘self-defence’. Then he deliberately and manipulatively sends Seo Hwa to the gisaeng house, so that he can sate his lust ‘legally’ – she’s a gisaeng afterall! The final act was to hang poor Yoon.

Beast! I thought! Worse than beast. Then I realised that I was wrong. A beast acts instinctively, like WG. His ‘beastly’ nature was seen only when he was cornered, when his loved one was forcefully taken away. Animals turn savage often because of a need, be it for proctection, territory or basic survival. What Officer Jo did was not beastly. It was human. Only humans betray one another, only humans frame each other, only humans manipulate one another and scheme to get their way. Beasts do not have the ability to do all this, only humans. And this is scary! This is what the drama wants us to think about.

Having written all this, I do hope that when Kang Chi turns ‘beastly’ (now that I’ve seen the father being beastly, I know he will too), I certainly hope that Yeo Wool will be made of more steely stuff than Seo Hwa.

I have a question to raise.. Is Gu Wol Ryung will only appear on these 2 episodes? I mean what will happen to him? He wasn’t able to finished the 100 days prayer and according to the book he will end up to a thousand demon if he doesn’t succeed. Will he appear as a demon loss his memory and encounter his unknown son Kang Chi? or the character will just fade away?

    • melissa says:

The actor seems kind of prominent in the promo art just to fade away forever. The summary (that’s mostly right) says he appears again. I think he’ll come back eventually. He doesn’t even know he has a son. Seems strange he’d never know that and never get any real closure about what happened.

    • crazyahjummafan says:

According to the synopsis, he’ll be Gwan-woong’s henchman. Turned evil. I think that in line with the fact that he did not fulfill the 3 conditions.

  13. AnnMichelle says:

Let’s think about what she has been through in these three months: witness the murder of her father, become a traitor of the country/prisoner, is stripped off her clothes and insulted publicly, become a prostitute, separate from everyone she knows and loves…
When she saw him turning into a flesh eating monster, she thinks is this the man she marries, who sleeps with her, comforts her with gentle words, basically the only person in the world she trusted.
Fear, revulsion, and the anger of being betrayed…
When she went to the officials, I think she’s totally given up. It was just too much. She loses hope for him, for their love, and most importantly, for herself. She just wants to get away from him and stops running. She really does not care what will happen to herself anymore.
The lie that she thought he told was the nail on the coffin.
Still, it’s them who forced her to show the way to the sanctuary.
I think her love, the love that refuses to die, at the last moment was what saves him from becoming an eternal ghost (as long as that person you made the conversion for still loves you…)

    • foulou says:

Too bad that wasn’t shown at all. That may have been the writer’s INTENTION, but the EXECUTION was just poor. If she totally gave up, why did she try to find the officials? Also, there was no indication that they forced her to go to the Moonlight Garden. It might very well be that she went to the officials and led them to him, but then she realized her mistake after seeing him get stabbed (Which I think is what actually happened in this episode).

Again, she could’ve just went away yet she went to the official who did worse things to her. Doesn’t compute, and doesn’t make sense at all. No matter how much you like a drama, terrible elements are just terrible, there’s no way around it.

      • Anonymous says:

Maybe it will SHOW SOME FLASBACK next episode

      • orochi says:

I think she was captured by the soldiers, not like she ran back to them. But showing them the way to catch WR is the most illogical thng ever, she lost all her points in my eyes doing that

  14. Anonymous says:

I think the best way to explain Seo Hwa’s reaction is based on a real life reaction of a human being.. We must admit,no matter how good a person to us the moment we saw just a little flaws or bad in him our mind is clouded with judgement. What more to a Mythical creature? The writers only showed that for us human being the same reaction like Seo Hwa will definitely occur. We only know the story that’s why we want her to understand and accept Wol Ryung but for real would you be that understanding the moment you found out the person you trust with is not being honest with you at all? I don’t think so.. And I read that in the third episode the story evolves around Kang Chi alone, maybe we will see what will be Seo Hwa’s actions and feelings regarding her son and Wol Ryung.

  15. AY says:

I think a drama has succeeded when it manages to arouse so much discussion in just 2 episodes. GFS fighting!!!

  16. Ivaa says:

Am I the only one who doesn’t feel the english ost ?…
    its a bit annoying actually…..
    am sorry……
    just luuuuvvv the Noel OST……

    • Adeline says:

Some people seem to like it but I feel that it is out of place. Hope that Seung G will sing an OST for the drama.
